Everyday Strong—
and ready for adventure.

Because Life Doesn’t Have an Off Switch

At Kaizen Life & Fitness, I help you build real-world strength — so you can move with ease, reduce (or even eliminate) pain, and stay ready for whatever life, work or play throws your way.

What Makes This Different?

We don’t train just for the gym.
We train for life.

You say you’re not a gym person. Fair enough, neither am I. I’d rather play outside all day. However, the gym is the place where we add balance from your sport, recreation or job. The mindset of what happens in the gym needs to switch. The time you invest in the gym should feel like a deposit not a withdrawal. It should give you energy when walking away to work or play. If your goal is the gym then that’s a different story and why we have sports like Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Strongman, Gymnastics, and CrossFit.

Kaizen means continuous improvement — being better everyday.  It’s about making small improvements over time.  Instead of burning out or getting injured by doing too much too soon, we focus on small, sustainable steps. This is fitness you can stick with.

Whether your goal is to play harder, work stronger, or move without pain, Craig teaches real-world movement, so you feel better in your body—today, tomorrow, and 10 years from now.

Meet Craig

When Craig isn’t teaching or being a family man, you’ll find him mountain biking, trail running, stand-up paddling, skiing, climbing or hiking. Craig loves to be active, and doing so has required him to learn how to care for his body so he can stay healthy and pain-free to do what he loves. He’s always moving — and that’s exactly why he’s passionate about helping you do the same—without anything holding you back.

In 2014, he founded Kaizen Life & Fitness, a personal training studio built around the idea of continuous, sustainable improvement.

"Kaizen means being better every day — not perfect, just better. That’s the foundation for long-term fitness that feels good."

Craig is a:

  • Certified GMB Trainer
  • RKC Kettlebell Instructor
  • PCC Calisthenics Instructor

One of the main concepts you will learn in his classes is self maintenance.Learning how to care for painful, achy joints and muscles; so you can live, play and work without limitation.

James Haarmeyer

Client since 2015

I’ve been a client of Craig’s since 2015. I went in knowing that I was generally fit and strong but also somewhat one dimensional as an athlete because so much of my exercise was mountain biking. It was humbling to see and learn about all my deficiencies in strength and mobility. But Craig has a way about him that makes you want to improve. He’s always positive, but not in an annoying or false way. And his positivity is backed up by a ridiculous level of knowledge about the hows and whys of your current condition and your path of improvement.

With hard work and Craig’s diligent guidance I feel like a complete athlete. My body is stronger, more balanced, more mobile and more durable. That last one is a weird word to apply to your body, but it’s strangely true. When you are balanced and have learned a refined sense of how to move safely and move well you can do things (both work and play) longer and harder and not feel wrecked. That’s durability!

But it’s ongoing because there’s always a harder progression. You get so much personal attention that you never get bored. Whether you’re learning how to care for your tight hips or learning a new kettlebell exercise—Craig keeps it fresh and fun. If you understand that your health is your wealth, then time spend at Kaizen is time well spent.

Leanne Pressly

Client since 2015

I’ve been training with Craig at Kaizen twice a week for several years. Over that time, I've noticed significant gains in my balance, strength and flexibility. I have a better understanding of how to manage pain through soft tissue work and just this year we achieved a big goal which was to improve my bone density without medication. Craig tailors workouts depending on what issues you're having and I feel like his understanding of physiology and commitment to proper form and technique has kept me progressing safely and steadily. Aside from the workouts, Craig is just a good human being. He is kind, professional and super reliable. I cannot recommend Kaizen enough.

Sarah Niemeyer

Client since 2015

I’ve been training with Craig for the past 5 years, and it’s been a total game changer. I’ve gained strength, flexibility, and a much deeper understanding of proper technique, and most importantly, my chronic back pain has improved dramatically.

His workouts are super thoughtful and always tailored to my body and goals. He focuses on longevity and building a body that’s strong and functional for the long haul, which means I can keep doing the things I love like playing outside, skiing, biking, and just staying active. I recommend him to everyone I know, and genuinely look forward to every session. Craig's gym has become one of my favorite places to be.

Client since 2015

Craig has kept me fit and injury free into my 50's with his unique approach to fitness. Craig's secret sauce is that he combines strength training with a heavy emphasis on mobility, ensuring that the fitness you gain in the studio is transferable to daily life outside the gym. Craig is a lifelong learner who is always striving to grow his knowledge base of fitness, human physiology and injury prevention. Workouts with Craig are fun; he keeps things interesting by introducing new movements, but his focus is always personal...what works best for you.

Today’s fitness culture is all about the ‘Just Do It’ mentality. Beat yourself up on a hamster wheel no matter what because that is what motivated, healthy people do right? Craig and his philosophy at Kaizen stands in contrast to this modern, American, picture of what fitness is supposed to look like. Craig’s approach is optimized to a level of not just what you need as an individual, but what you need as an individual on that particular day. It's a smarter approach to fitness that focuses on moving well across a variety of functional exercises. The Kaizen approach to fitness is for lifelong health and wellness, not short term, more ego driven motivations.
